Immigrant Women (Book 1)
 The
memory book narrates the experience of
a group of immigrant women Hmong, Lao,
Mexican, Salvadorean and
Mixtec as they engage in building
interethnic relationships and tried to create one community
in the ethnically diverse Central valley.
These women became authors in telling their own stories
and how they came together to express their own voices and
find new ways of building relations and overcoming barriers. |

Share out Silence (DVD)
 Seven
Central Valley youth share their powerful stories
of culture, oppression, self - identity and hope in digital
stories they wrote and directed. Using photographs, musical
pieces artwork along with other forms of media, these stories
tell youth today is grappling with the major issues facing
this new generation.
Representing a culturally diverse blend of views, these
youth come from Mixtec,
Hmong , Mexican and African-American/Hawaiian
backgrounds. |

Symposium (Book 2)
 The
book or memoria titled “Symposium
on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples of the Americas”
describes the cultural dialogues between California
Native Americans and indigenous Mexicans
from the Central Valley. Participating communities
include indigenous Mexicans (Mixtecs,
P’urhepechas, Otomí, Yaqui,
and others), along with Native Americans
(Mono, Wukchumni, Chumash,
and others).
The book celebrates the resistance of indigenous peoples
against the long history of oppression and dominance by
colonizers. Indigenous peoples have endured over 500
years of colonization and yet there is evidence
of many thriving communities, cultures and traditions throughout
the Americas.
The memoria documents the dialogues
and conversations that took place at a symposium
held in the summer of 2004 where key topic areas discussed
include Culture and Development,
and Territory and Mobility, with emphasis
on the need to promote active citizenship, cultural understanding,
and further collaboration.
